Never Better.

After 3 days of marginal food and nasty Black Tea, my stomach is back to its usual, hungry self.  Three days of the stomach flu have left me lethargic and 10 pounds lighter, but hey, all the better for Sunday's race!  Woke up this morning, and felt about 100 times better, and though - after a couple solid meals - my stomach still makes odd noises unexpectedly, I haven't had any bad symptoms in 12 hours.  This is good news indeed, after yesterday's catastrophic nothingness.

With nothing to do but sit and feel like crap, I decided to take the telephoto for a walk yesterday, since the sun was shining for the first time in a week.  The fog finally lifted out of Europe and the North winds have died down, leaving sunny skies and a warm southern breeze.  Getting better and having sun on the same day is like having Christmas and a birthday in the same week... something that I'm used to.

I've been diligently working to reverse the effects of my procrastination from the last 7 weeks... I finished my last High School course - a quick online class that I needed for a last credit - and have been updating my article for the Rocky Mountain Flyer, due to appear in this summer's bi-monthly magazine.

Other than that, I've been preparing best I can for Schaan - though I really don't know what to expect.  I will be training today - supposed to be a day off the bike, two days before a race, but as I have been two days without training, necessary exceptions to the rule had to be made.  Beat's instructions for the day: "Go as long as it takes to feel good."  If that's not subjective, then I don't know what is.

Okay, I'm outta here.  I'll be updating after Schaan!  Best wishes can be sent telepathically or electronically before 8 tomorrow morning, my time.

No matter how it goes, how many young American mountain bike racers get to mix it up with the World's best in the tiny nation of Lichtenstein!!??
